P2P Internet marketplaces as regulators

Para-phrasing an interesting comment made by Balaji Srinivasan on Making sense podcast
Balaji Srinivasan on Making Sense podcast made an interesting comment which I am para-phrasing here: Uber, Zomato, Amazon etc. are essentially regulatory institutions. Existing regulators (FDA, FCC, City council level taxi regulators) were set up for centralised economies and not peer-to-peer. In P2P economies, these new "regulators" have come up who are then funded by consumers instead of tax payers who funded the traditional regulators. Uber/Zomato/Amazon are able to do regulation using the review system. In Future, next evolution of the system is crypto/Etherium/Ledger based regulation.
