Parasnath hill - Its a majestic hill with several beautiful Jain temples. Its the highest peak of Jharkhand. There is a well made path that goes to he very top. It takes around 12 hours (9kms each way) to climb up & come down.
Satgalia - a maze of narrow streets right in the middle of the town, that only locals can navigate. The real fun is getting lost in them and then ask a friendly local for the way out. Also see the old Kali temple at one end of it.
Kabir gyan mandir - sprawling ashram with a Guru-Gobind dham temple. Very peaceful & serene.
Usri falls - a small but very fast waterfall.
Budhai hill & temple - Its a rare geological feature called Plutonic hill. The whole area is surrounded by Palash forest with this hill right sitting in between with not a blade of grass growing on it. There is also a natural cave in it with a temple inside.
Bengabad dark sky- Its an area right outside the town with no light pollution and hence suitable for stargazing
Sir JC Bose museum - The famous Nobel laureate once lived here. His house and the adjoining laboratory is now converted into a museum.
Baniadih open cast coal mines - The mines are now officially closed but illegally mining by locals still goes on. Just the sheer size of the mines are awe inspiring.
Khandoli Picnic spot - Family friendly picnic spot next to a dam.
